We welcome any high school student, and since it is a virtual hackathon international students can also apply. If you are outside the age range but would like to participate, please let us know while filling out the registration.

Absolutely not! There are a variety of workshops throughout the hackathon on topics like app and web development, so you learn all the skills you need to create your product.

Space City Hacks is free :)

Before the hackathon, we will give you the opportunity to meet other students. You may also choose to work alone or have a team beforehand.

We encourage you to stay and work on your project while attending different activities. If you're not sure if you are available all three days, you can still sign up and participate in the workshops that interest you!

All projects must be completed within the timeframe of the hackathon and be submitted on our devpost. If you are a beginner or have less experience in programming we will take that in account while judging projects, so everyone has a fair chance regardless of their knowledge before that hackathon. The prizes are gift cards!
